I hosted a Vintage Open Mike (5th Sunday) at Godfrey’s tonight. Everyone brought their A game tonight with folks stepping up. I started with Voodoo Chile/Irish Spring on the mandolin and got out July for the first time this year. I asked folks to call up some summer images – NJ, watermelon, back yard….. It was funny cause I did muff some of the words since it has been months since I played it.
Folks rolled out some great tunes including Dave Turner who covered a Bill Hall tune and then a Ed McKendry tune as well. I am so proud of these folks and how they support each other’s artistry. Great stuff all around.
