It’s nice when we get to play the ES and the MS in a community in one day. We played Greenwich ES for two shows in the morning. Roughly 500 kids. One teacher came up and said, “Dave Fry”, and I said hey. She said, “I remember coming to see you at Musikfest when I was their age (~ 7 years old). Could you do ‘I Wanna Be a Dog’?” I said it wasn’t part of this show, but I would be glad to stop in her classroom between shows. Which I did. Sometimes the circle does come around on itself.

Both shows went well, and both teachers and kids danced.

The afternoon show was at the Middle School about 3 miles away, so I packed up and headed over to set up before lunch. Kinda get the hauling out of the way. The school moved the assembly in the gym up 15 minutes so not to interfere with dismissal at 2:20. That meant a crisp show (Dave, shut up and deal…) which we did. Truth be told, that’s exactly what we have to do for middle schools – run the show. It was a mad dash to get all the stuff out before the buses and the parents’ pickup, but by 2:21 I was on my way out of the parking lot.

Three shows, long day, rough voice, but good to be working. Another dry spell this week, though. Radio, guitar lesson and final mastering of Playground on Friday.
