I headed a block away for my concert for my local school, Holy Infancy. I played there before Christmas and promised to do one in the spring. I set up on the grass behind the school, with a little shade for all of us. It was field day, and a good opportunity to join in the festivities.
These kids know all the songs, and I ran my recorder during the show, and there’s lots of times when I’m not even singing and they carry the tune. I got to spring some of the new tunes on the kids like Jelly in the Dish, Jimalong Joe, All Around the Kitchen and Rosalie. The teachers are all friends from the many years I’ve played there, so it was as comfortable as could be.
