I got back from the CMN conference in a quick 3 hour drive from VA!!! I found I was still energized from the conference and decided I’d do a GD Open Mike set before I set to my overdue homework, this journal.
I traded up to draw the Blank (thanks, Sam…) and followed Ed McKendry’s fine set with Shoo That Fly and Bird of Paradise, with Ed chiming in on lead on the latter (so fine). It was good to play my ass off on this stage, in front of friends and some new and younger faces, with nothing holding me back other than my creeping conference exhaustion.
It was a good way to wrap up this expansive weekend.
