This afternoon assembly was a long haul into southeastern PA, a beautiful slice of rural PA. It was a stormy ride and when we got there, the power was out at the school. They decided to hold the assembly in the all-purpose gym/room with a generator and good ambient lighting. The school was completely invested in having the show, and I’m glad they were. You don’t reschedule this late in the year.

Ironically, the power came on as the kids filed in. The show was good and the kids and teachers were charged. Although it’s becoming rote, the show is always on the mark, the information rich and the playing professional. I’m also glad that the bumps I suffered earlier this spring are a thing of the past, as long as my back and hip remain functional.

A long trip back through rush hour though. That’s why I prefer the morning shows.
