I returned to this YMCA daycare north of Easton for two ‘shows’ on Wednesday. These are interesting visits, with two distinct age groups, and therefore skill levels that makes for creative performances.

The three and four-year olds were first, and they love to laugh, though the 3’s don’t pick up on singing along, but the 4’s do. Quite a divide. But I did some stuff I haven’t done in a while and it was fun to exercise that material.

The second group was older and easier to engage on movement, vocal and conceptual levels. It was easier to stretch out songs, and play with the kids. I got to expand my repertoire with the new stuff, and play longer.

It was supposed to be two 30 minute sets, but time flies when you’re having fun.

It was cool that the teachers and kids were excited to hear that I was coming.
