Sunday was an open mike, hosted by myself, and it was a very good night. New folks, talented folks, and good friends as well. Some new folks came from as far away as Lancaster and Chester County, and good friends now living in Philly made the trek.
I opened with Irish Spring on mando with Dawg Jesse backing up, It’ll Be Me and Smokin’ Babies with Ansel. I hadn’t played them in awhile, in the April slump of gigs.
Jason, Ansel, Kwesi did fine sets, and I’m so proud of how these homegrown folks continue to grow and excel. Jesse did some stuff I haven’t heard of.
An all around fine evening of homegrown music.
