We played another bar gig at St. James pub at the Sands Casino tonight.  It was a mixture of good music and deaf ears, but that’s what happens in these situations.  I make an effort to connect with folks, and part of that is presenting good music played well.  That we do, and I’m proud to do it with Ansel, a man with fine ears and sensibilities. The gig pays well, and gives both of us an opportunity to play with each other for three sets, but it is a different world for us.  There are moments of connection with the folks that stop in, but we are worker ants in a vast hive of gambling.

It remains a curious gig amongst the many I play, and is notable for that.  It’s good to play well for my ears and Ansel’s.
