We had a nice opportunity to play for a small, rural school in the hills of western New Jersey in Califon. Only about 110 kids, even though it was a K – 8 school. The kids were great, as expected, though the kids I picked for ‘Peanut Butter’ did the ole ‘spoken word’ version. It’s tough for these kids to be put on the spot in front of their friends and often the older kids don’t sing the refrain. Just part of the growing process, though when they sing it, it rocks the crowd.
It was also nice to drive 40 minutes from home for a single show. I was sore anyway.
