It was an early curtain call today for a 11 am Tank Stage (what a great name for a folk music space) Show, opening the Sunday 53rd Philly Folk Festival programming. Someone has to play the first chord. Well, they selected me, and I do consider this an honor. They said, whadagot? That’s pretty cool.

I figured Ansel and myself would be the appropriate combination, in many ways. Simple, folkie, acoustic craftsmanship. I can do that…. We can do that….

I motioned Ansel to come up with me to view this magic moment. Spread out in all its glory, an empty hillside at the Philly Folk Fest on a Sunday at 10:50 am. How cool is this?

The first cool thang to happen was working with a world-class sound crew, Klondike, introduced to me by GD friend Terry Mutchler. As we set up, the ease and professionism of the tech crew was pretty awesome. (I’m sorry about using the word ‘awesome’) These guys do sound for world-class festivals, with major acts, and treated us like pros. That was very cool.

… next, the Dave and Ansel Show…..
