This is an annual gathering of NJ Teaching Artists at the fabulous Grounds for Sculpture near Trenton, NJ. Various sessions with other folks in the biz, great food and a beautiful setting.
The keynote speaker was Nick Jaffe from Chicago, a musician who works with kids with studio experiences, song-writing. He’s a cool guy, unassuming and down to earth, and a TA blogger and writer. I also took a session with Flacco, a Latin dancer working with kids in Philly and another session with folks working with elders in libraries.
The best part is reconnecting with fellow TA’s, some of whom are familiar from past gatherings, and meeting new ones, some of whom are just getting started. More tomorrow.
