I went to my first art opening today where I had some fat in the fire, so to speak, at City Hall in Bethlehem. It’s a Self Portrait exhibit with 12 or so artists, and 12 or so community folks, so I guess I fall in the latter part. I worked hard on my piece for the last 3 months and it came out well and I’m proud of it. It was nice to chat with the arts crowd, lots of friends amongst them, and catch some wind on my piece.  Lots of nice comments. The exhibit goes through August and there are many interesting takes on self portraitry.

One comment from a visual artist – I was one of the few who dared venture outside the rectangle, that I broke the standard square frame. Makes sense to me.
